Adrian Benjamin Joins Hoxton Capital: A Return to the Financial Planner Life Podcast To Discuss all things Life Protection, Mental Health, and Financial Planning Careers with your Host Sam Oakes
Adrian Benjamin, a prominent expert in protection consulting, recently returned to the Financial Planner Life Podcast, hosted by Sam Oakes to discuss his new role at Hoxton Capital Management and delve into the evolving scope of life cover, particularly its increasing focus on mental health.
A New Beginning at Hoxton Capital
Adrian chose to join Hoxton Capital Management due to its innovative approach and global presence.
“Hoxton’s forward-thinking strategies, such as their Hoxton Wealth app and internal Tech team, really drew me in,” Benjamin expressed during the podcast. His decision was driven by Hoxton’s ambition to expand and redefine financial services.
Professional Achievements and Recognitions
Since his last appearance, Benjamin has significantly impacted the protection sector through social media, earning him the Dr. Marius Barnard Award from Scottish Widows. Moreover, his excellence did not go unnoticed at his previous firm, where he was recognized as the top advisor out of 200, specializing in protection. “Being ranked number one out of 200 protection-only advisors was a testament to the hard work and dedication I put into my role,” he stated.
Evolving Perspectives on Mental Health in Life Cover
A substantial part of Benjamin’s discussion centered on the importance of integrating mental health support within life cover policies, a topic deeply personal to him following the loss of his father.
“After my dad passed away, I truly grasped the importance of mental health support embedded within life insurance offerings,” Benjamin explained. This personal experience has fueled his advocacy for comprehensive care in financial products.
Benjamin also discussed the changing attitudes of life insurance companies towards clients with a history of mental health issues. He shared a compelling story about a friend who had a significant mental health history, including a suicide attempt, yet was able to obtain life coverage.
“Insurance providers are becoming more understanding and flexible. A friend of mine, despite his past challenges with mental health, was able to secure life insurance. It was more expensive, but the fact that two providers were willing to offer coverage is a sign of positive change,” he recounted.
The Future of Protection and Financial Planning
Looking ahead, Benjamin is excited about his role at Hoxton, where he plans to redefine the role of life cover to encompass broader aspects of client care, including mental health support.
“Our goal is to underscore the value of protection products as foundational to financial planning, ensuring they address all aspects of a client’s life,” Benjamin emphasized.
Adrian Benjamin’s insightful return to the Financial Planner Life Podcast highlighted the significant shifts in life insurance, particularly regarding mental health integration. Host Sam Oakes noted,
“Adrian’s dedication to bringing mental health awareness into financial planning is revolutionary. It’s about crafting a safety net that covers not just financial security but also emotional and mental well-being.”
As Benjamin continues his impactful work at Hoxton, his efforts to promote comprehensive protection services promise to influence the industry profoundly, advocating for a holistic approach to financial strategies.
